Your main host, Harro, is from Holland where he started his B&B journey attending hotel school and training as a chef during military service. He came to the UK in 1994 originally working as a breakfast chef in hotels, then working in a few different roles in hotels before bumping into Lucy.

Harro has enjoyed volunteering for the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and helped to socialise four amazing cocker spaniel puppies ahead of their full training. In his youth Harro enjoyed speed skating on the canals near his home, but more recently has taken up long distance running. He ran his first marathon in Liverpool, has completed a few half-marathons, and was lucky enough to be able to run the London marathon and the Great North Run raising money for the Hearing Dogs.

Originally from Cheshire, Lucy started her hotel career with Forte in London. Though she too used to enjoy a lot of sport when younger, she now enjoys a more sedentary role supporting Harro at his running events. Lucy’s passion is the garden: you may look out of your window at the B&B and wonder that Lucy doesn’t seem to be doing a lot of gardening but have a read of our “Environment” page to find out why the garden often looks a bit rough around the edges.

Since we opened in 2015 we have enjoyed welcoming a lot of amazing guests, some of whom have stayed with us many times and become good friends. We look forward to welcoming you here too!
