A busy Summer at The Hive at 52
Can you believe itâs September already? We hope you had a wonderfull Summer and enjyed the sunshine we had this year. It feels like only yesterday we wrote our June blog, and here we are three months later wondering where the summer has gone. If youâre reading this, thank you for stopping by keeping our blog updated is one of those things thatâs easy to push aside when weâre busy with guests, but itâs also vital for our Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). So here we are, catching up properly and giving you a little glimpse of life both inside and outside of The Hive at 52.
A busy Summer at The Hive at 52 has brought us many wonderful moments.
A Family Milestone to Celebrate
Back in early July, we had a proud family moment. Our eldest daughter, Daisy, graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Geography. Since then, sheâs been back with us for a few weeks, in between holidays, before heading back to Bristol to start the next chapter of her life.
Daisyâs graduation was one of the highlights of our busy Summer at The Hive at 52.
Some of our long-time guests will remember Daisy well. Sheâs been part of The Hive at 52 from the very beginning! Being a brillinat help at breakfast, welcoming guests, and making everyone feel at home since she was just 12 years old. It feels like a chapter is turning for her, and for us too.
Returning Guests = The Best Recognition
The past few months have been wonderfully busy here at the B&B. One of the best parts of running The Hive at 52 is welcoming back familiar faces. Weâve had so many returning guests over the summer, and for us, thatâs the greatest recognition of what we do. Did you know that about 60% of our guests have stayed before! We think that is an awesome number.
The Hive at 52 has been bustling with returning guests all summer, making this a busy Summer at The Hive at 52.
Many visitors tell us they now see us as their go-to accommodation whenever theyâre in the Northwich area. That kind of loyalty and trust means the world to us. Whether itâs for a family visit, a weekend exploring Cheshire, or regular business trips, weâre proud to be the little B&B that feels like home. Thank you!đ

A Summer of music, comedy & travel
For us, a busy Summer at The Hive at 52 also meant enjoying various events and entertainment.
It hasnât all been work, though! We managed to squeeze in a few treats ourselves. We enjoyed seeing the amazing and slightly excentric Macey Gray, the incredible Lionel Richie at Co-Op Live in Manchester, an impressive Fifty Cent and Mary J. Blige at Tottenham Stadium, and more recently, a very funny Russell Kane at Chesterâs Storyhouse. Each show reminded us how special live entertainment can be.
We also took a much-needed holiday, after a busy Summer at The Hive at 52! The first week was just the two of us â exploring Northern France and the Ardennes. Driving through areas marked so heavily by the First World War was a sobering and moving experience. More than a century on, the stories still resonate, and it was impossible not to reflect on the importance of peace.
We returned from a busy Summer at The Hive at 52 ready to share more experiences with our guests.
For the second week, we swapped history for family time. Daisy (plus one) and Beatrice joined us at a villa just outside Lyon. Most of the time was spent in the swimming pool, enjoying sunshine and togetherness, exactly what we needed.

Business guests who became part of the Hive
September has started strong, but it also brings a little bittersweet change. Two of our regular business guests, who have stayed with us week after week since January, are moving on as their project has now finished.
Our regulars have contributed to a busy Summer at The Hive at 52, giving us so many cherished memories.
Itâs been such a pleasure looking after them, and their long stay proves that a small B&B in Cheshire really can be a âhome from homeâ for business travellers. If you know someone whoâs tired of chain hotels and wants something more personal during their regular trips to the Northwich area, do send them our way.
