Walking the Cheshire countryside
31-03-2016 | Category: General News
As we are being blessed with some early Spring sunshine up North we thought try out some new walks just in case some of our guest do wish to go for a walk. The first walk is approximately 5 miles starting through some farm fields along the River Weaver. The farm fields full of mother sheep with their young lambs, all of them together make a lovely sound and with the sun shining in your face, you know it is spring. Saltersford small lock gives you the choice to continue to Barnton & Northwich or go back along the Trent Mersey canal towards Little Leigh and Dutton. We went back along the canal passing many narrowboats and other fellow walkers towards a well deserved cuppa at Davenports Tea Room and Farm shop.
The second walk of the week started again in Little Leigh with a walk along the River Weaver however this time towards Dutton Locks and Frodsham. The walk talking you along the river Weaver for approximately 1.5 miles, and then along a bridle path for another mile. At this time you have a choice to go towards Frodsham or Dutton/ Preston Brook. Walking on muddy paths through a small forest and along the canal, will take you to Preston Brook & Whitehouse Industrial Estate. At this point we returned however you can walk along towards Runcorn and further afield.
